I graduated college in 2004 with a B.S. degree in Graphic Design and Art. After I graduated I worked in retail management for years. I searched for jobs in my field and was discouraged with what was out there so I stuck with retail. You can only take so many no’s right? After my position was eliminated at my last retail job it was like someone handed me a silver platter. In the back of my mind I heard, “Do what you love to do.” We all wish that our job was something that we could smile about on a daily basis and for many of us that’s not possible. So I worked on my resume and applied for several jobs only to hear things like, “You don’t have enough experience” or the unheard of, “You’re OVER-QUALIFIED”. So I finally found a job doing sales and design at Sign-A-Rama and I have had a lot of opportunities because of my job. I have met some amazing people and my clients are wonderful. But something was still missing. So I decided to go back to school, even though I said I would never go back after the first time, I did it. Going back has been the best decision I have ever made, although I felt the pressures of being a full time worker and a part time student.  I have met some amazing people. Some of my professors I would consider friends and some of my classmates will definitely be friends even after we graduate. I have had the ability to be passionate about something that I do again. Web Design was always something that I feared and now that I have had the opportunity to work with it, I absolutely love it. Designing things and being artistic is just in my blood and that’s something that no one can take away from me.

This month has been an eye opener. Being so close to being done with my technical diploma for web design has been one of the greatest accomplishments for me. I am so excited to see what the future months hold…

I hope that by learning and creating through web design that this site can demonstrate my passion for what I love. A resume is only a piece of paper, this site is a work of art.
